How to Choose Paper Mill Doctor Blade

The drying part is one of the most energy-intensive parts of a paper machine, and the friction between the doctor blade and the drying cylinder directly affects energy consumption. Studies show that high-performance, low-friction doctor blades can reduce the power consumption of the drying part motor by 26%, equivalent to saving the factory 950 MWh of energy annually. The requirements for surface smoothness and gloss of high-value-added products such as coated paper and specialty paper are constantly increasing, and the precision and stability of the doctor blade directly determine the coating effect.
For coated paper, cultural paper, and other paper types with high surface quality requirements, the precision of the doctor blade is crucial. We recommend choosing ceramic-coated or tungsten carbide-coated doctor blades. In toilet paper production, the creased doctor blade directly determines the paper’s bulk and feel. High-hardness alloy-coated doctor blades (such as the KNM series) are recommended; their dense and uniform coating offers excellent wear resistance, balancing surface quality and production efficiency.
