Differences Of The Three Directions Of Paper

1. Longitudinal Direction

In paper machine paper, most of the longitudinal strength of paper is larger than the horizontal direction and the vertical direction. Other properties are also different. The longitudinal properties of the paper are mainly affected by factors such as fiber state, fiber arrangement state, and tension.

2. Horizontal Direction

Generally, the horizontal strength is smaller than the longitudinal direction. The influencing factors are same as the longitudinal direction, but the effect is opposite.

3. Vertical Direction

The vertical strength of the paper is small. This is mainly due to that the paper fiber vertical arrangement is very few. In fact, the fibers are vertically stacked in a layered state, and thus have the characteristics of a layer structure. The strength of the paper in this direction is almost entirely due to the interfiber bonding. Paper destruction is the easiest in this direction.
